"Good Things to Offer"

Though some people wish to be located within the middle of the city, others wish to enjoy city living closer ot he suburbs. That's what makes this area so great is that you get a little bit of everything! It's not the best area of town but certainly not the worst. If you want the good cost of living but want to be located closer to the suburbs then this is a nice match.

There are definitely some areas in need of improvements or updates, but that's not the neighborhood as a whole. You have access to some good restaurants and plenty of shopping. You are conveniently located close to Dearborn and that means some good nightlife too. You will never be lacking for amenities and being close to the suburbs offers perks of its own.

Sure you do have to get past some parts of the area that are a bit rundown and that puts this neighborhood somewhere in the middle. It's not a bad area but not the best around. The rundown areas are far less than the good ones, but it's something to consider.

You can get good cost of living, great accessibility to major roads, plenty of dining and shopping options, and therefore this is a good part of town to consider. It's even close to the River Rouge park so you have a bit of recreation to enjoy as well. Not a bad spot at all if you are considering moving to a city location!

"Warrendale – Definite Potential"

“They” say it’s all about location when choosing somewhere to live. Well, Warrendale definitely gets high marks when it comes to geography. It may not be the most glamorous neighborhood, it doesn’t offer the best schools and it isn’t the safest area you can find, but if you need to commute, shop, eat out or go to school, Warrendale puts you in a decent spot.

This is a rather large neighborhood, some areas are very well-maintained, others are mediocre and some will still boast a few boarded up windows here and there. Interestingly, Warrendale puts you in a corner where there are just as many Arabs as there are African-Americans. It is a nice mix here that seems to work, because crime isn’t nearly as bad as some surrounding areas.

If you need to commute, Southfield FWY, I-96 and I-94 are all right here. There are a ton of restaurants on Warren Ave, or if you venture over to Fairlane North Shopping Center, you will find a few other options. If you go a little farther to the main Fairlane Shopping Center at Christmas, you will find one of the most beautiful Santa displays around. Fairlane offers every name brand store you could want from cheap clothing you’ll wear once and throw away to high end labels that aren’t always easy to find.

"Warrendale - dining, nightlife and the River Rouge Park"

Between Joy Road and Ford Road, Greenfield and Rouge Park, the Warrendale neighborhood in Detroit is a part of what was once known as Warrendale Township. Though the area became part of Detroit proper once again in 1920, it has carried a distinct personality of its own ever since. It is on the edge of the city itself, and just off of the border of both Dearborn and Dearborn Heights.

It is one of the most culturally diverse areas in the Detroit-metro, surrounded by cities that are among the most populated areas in the country for both African Americans and Arab Americans. Warrendale offers the highest number of shopping and dining options perhaps in the entire city, and it is home to Rouge Park – which is the largest municipal park in the United States.

It has become a popular option for families and students alike, and represents somewhere to escape the bustle of the downtown area – while still enjoying the nightlife, the cultural opportunities and the feel of the city. It is slightly more upscale than many of the deep downtown neighborhoods, and Warrendale maintains a suburban feel throughout much of the former city – even though it is still very much Detroit for residents throughout.

"Large working class neighborhood on the edge of Detroit"

Due to this being close to Dearborn I guess, this neighborhood has a very large Arab community living within it. I have seen some of the neighborhood close to the main roads like Evergreen and Warren. When I lived in the suburbs and sections of the Southfield Freeway were closed, we took the long way to get to Fairlane Mall and passed through here.

This neighborhood is way too huge for us to have driven through every street, but it was just average by Detroit standards. You had bungalow style homes, a couple vacated lots, but mostly clean. It just seemed like a working class part of town, which appeals to many people. Public transportation is also available at practically all of the main cross street in this area.

This neighborhood due its sprawling size has a bunch of schools also, which will appeal to families with children. There is also a ton of retail shopping right there on Warren and Ford Road.

One big bonus of living in this area is all of the shopping you have access to. You have Fairland Mall of course and the Fairlane North part. Put it this way; this is a good solid neighborhood if you are welcome to the demographic of the area.
