"A True Local Gem"

This is some of the most natural beauty that you will find in the city. This is an area that is known really more for its name sake as a park than as a residential area. Though there may be homes around here, the area is known more for the gorgeous park and the many activities that you can partake in here.

Though there are other parks in the city of Detroit, this is the most noteworthy. Not only do you have access to amenities for kids here, but you will also find a full golf course for the adults to enjoy. There is beautiful land for having a picnic, flying a kite, or just playing with the kids. This is a true recreational gem and beautiful natural spot and that's why it draws in so many visitors.

Even those that live outside of the area tend to travel here for a great spot to do things on a warm summer day. It's beautiful and the great part is that it's very accessible. It's close to major roads like Telegraph and major expressways like I-96. Though it is within the Detroit city limits it's very close to areas like Dearborn and that draws in people that live in this neighboring communities.

You may not find many actual homes here, but it's a true gem in terms of the beauty that it offers. This is well kept, very safe, and full of possibilities particularly for families with children. You can come enjoy some time outside here and get away from the hustle bustle of the city or of everyday life.

"The natural recreation of the city"

The Park in Detroit is one of the simple delights of the city that is taken in more by residents and local visitors than by tourists or suburbanites. The Park is just off of a few of the major freeways, and is more an expanse of land than a neighborhood. It is home to one of the few 18 hole courses in the entire city of Detroit, and the course stands up as a respectable public course, alongside other alternatives like Chandler Park.

The park is visited by people throughout the city, and children can be seen around the area, playing in a number of varied playgrounds, enjoying nature, or hanging out at any of a number of picnic areas. With so few parks in the city, it is a comfort and a delight for locals to take in the green grass and the open fields of a city that is for the most part paved, and deserted and broken in many other places. Intersected by the River Rouge, the park is among the biggest in the city, and in the metropolitan area as a whole, and brings a level of calmness to the area. If you’re interested in hitting some golf balls without leaving the city, the course at the park offers a challenge and a fun round in the sun.

"A pretty cool park area of Detroit"

I can honestly say that I am no expert on the surrounding neighborhood, but I do know about the park. I think everyone who lives in Detroit has visited at least a couple of times. I love coming out here.

The park is the largest in Detroit, I think. The Rouge River runs right through park, actually snakes through it in several places. Anyway, you can do whatever you want to at this park. There are a bunch of picnic areas for outings, baseball fields for softball games, and trails for bicycling. I think there are swimming pools still open as well during the summer months, but I didn't go swimming here. There are also tennis courts, basketball courts, and a whole bunch of playgrounds for the kids.

As an adult, I am more interested in golfing than anything else. Guess what? They have a a good solid 18 holes you can play here as well. I scored OK the last time me and my cousin played a round here.

I-96 and Telegraph are the major roads close to the neighborhood, so there isn't much trouble getting in and out. Southfield Freeway is not far away either. There are a few retail outlets and restaurants over by Outer Dr as well if you are looking for dining in the area. Not a bad place at all.
