"Conveniently close to Haight"

To be blunt, Waller is the street that you park on when you go out on Haight. It is a short, centrally located street that runs parallel to this bustling street, filled with fun bars, great restaurants, and a truly eclectic crowd.

You kind of get the best of both worlds here - Waller is near the fun, bustling Haight, but is residential, peaceful, near some great parks, and has some nice homes with an abundance of parking. There is not much else to be said, other than that the biggest drawback is the sheer cost of living.
Pros
  • Near Haight
  • Great parks nearby
  • Nice residential homes
Cons
  • Some noise spillover from Haight
  • Very expensive

"Runs parallel to Haight St."

This street is located in the Haight Ashbury district. It runs from Golden Gate Park to Buena Vista. It is a not a very busy street compared to Haight, but it is pretty lively still. This area is pretty friendly and safe. It is close to many unique restaurants at Haight nearby. There are also many popular clothing and shoe stores. There is access to a few bus lines like the 43 and 71. This street would be a very nice place to live, and Haight is a place you definitely have to visit.

"Haight Ashbury residential"

Waller st is a cute st that runs in the Haight Ashbury district of san francisco. It runs from golden gate park to Buena vista park. It is mostly residential and is less crowded than haight st. The neighborhood is very laid back and friendly. A great place to raise children.

"Perfect if you like the Haight Ashbury scene and value living near world-class parks."

Okay, sure, it's a little funky and there are a lot of hippies and panhandlers. But it is the Haight and you have to expect a little reality. I love the eclecticism in everything from food to shopping to styles to entertainment. And you really can't beat being this close to Golden Gate Park and Buena Vista Park. It's next to Cole Valley and within walking distance of both the N-Judah Muni line and a whole bunch of bus lines. Grocery shopping is a little pricey nearby and it can occasionally get noisy--the kids who tend to live in ground-floor apartments like to party. But this is all part of the Haight-Ashbury scene.
