"A Nice Little Area"

You can't go wrong in this nice area of Detroit, and that's such great news for the city as a whole. This is one of those areas that has been around forever but yet still has some great attraction to it. There's nothing particularly special or elite about this neighborhood, but it's just nice overall.

You can find a great home for a nice price and that's drawing in more and more people. You are also located close to Chandler Park so you are just a stone's throw from the beauty of this natural area as well as a golf course. This neighborhood is nice enough on its own but then when you add in the proximity of the park that really seals the deal, particularly for those families with children.

You have plenty nearby and so it's convenient to get to restaurants, shoping and even a bit of nightlife. It's easy enough to get in and out of town, great accessiblity with a major expressway running through town. That makes this an excellent choice, particularly if you want to get a lot for your money.

If you want to live within the city of Detroit and want a nice option that helps you to fulfill all of your requirements of a neighborhood then this makes for an excellent choice. Many are finding this to be their preferred option and so it's a great time to live here.

"Ravendale - Harpos and Chandler Park - whats not to like?"

Just off of I-94 and incorporating a section of the Chandler Park area – including the popular golf course – Ravendale is home to Harpo’s Concert Theater and is in one of the most unque areas of the city. This neighborhood of Detroit is void of any of the many schools in the city, but does feature a number of businesses and interesting buildings and locations. Chief among these is the aforementioned Harpo’s Concert Theater, which has hosted many legendary local performances.

Because of its incorporation of a busy stretch of the interstate, traffic is often high in the area, as is the noise from traffic and from people at the restaurants, gas stations and stores surrounding the freeway. But, because many state troopers and Detroit policemen can be seen around the Interstate and the surrounding exits, it is a relatively safe area. Just across I-94, as well, is one of the most famous and most-oft played golf courses in Detroit – Chandler Park.

Because of the metropolitan nature of the city – and the plethora of courses outside of the metro – not many courses are actually within the city proper. Chandler Park, however, can be seen by anyone driving on I-94, and provides a view and a sense of recreation that many other neighborhoods in the city do not enjoy.

"Pretty decent eastside neighborhood very close to the Chandler Park area"

This is not a very big neighborhood at all. It basically borders I-94 on one side and resides on the east side of town. My mom's aunt lived over here not too long ago, but she moved recently to the west side.

This one of those areas that you can tell needs some revitalization due to the streets and the older homes, but the residents do well in taking care of what they have. On most of the streets, including Wade where my great-aunt lived, everyone kept their grass cut and the exterior of their homes orderly. Yes there was the occasional vacant lot and abandoned house, but you are going to find a few of those in just about any Detroit neighborhood. There is also a school or two in the neighborhood; I know one is called St. Ignatius

The residents of this area have access to plenty of retail stores on both Harper and Conner St. I have been recommended by more than one person to try this bar called Retro's on Harper by I-94, though I haven't had occasion to take them up on the offer yet.

One huge bonus of living in this neighborhood is that it is located right next to the Chandler Park area. You have access to the golf course, the water park, and everything else over there. If I lived over here I would be at Chandler Park all the time. This is a pretty solid neighborhood in my opinion.
