"Detroit's best neighborhood! A true hidden gem!"

This is Detroit's best neighborhood! Close to the river, friendly neighbors, great parks nearby, affordable houses, and an overall great community spirit. Jefferson Chalmers is bordered by Grosse Pointe and is only a few minutes to Trader Joe's on the east side and only 10 minutes to downtown Detroit on the west side. The neighborhood is really one of Detroit's "hidden gem" areas. It's a great place for families, working professionals and young people alike. The business district here is also coming back strong with great local establishments like Coffee & (___) and a bunch of new businesses that have sprouted up recently or are opening soon. I would highly recommend that more people move here and discover how great this charming and safe neighborhood really is!

"Been Voted One of the Safest Cities"

If being close to the water isn't enough, there is another draw that may convince you that this is a great part of town. Amidst other areas that may not be deemed as very safe, this particular neighborhood has been voted one of the safest in the area. That's of great comfort and appeal to those interested in moving here!

It's located close to Grosse Pointe and that in and of itself offers some great appeal. It is right near a great area of town and therefore carries over many of these characteristics with it. You will find just about everything that you need here from good schools to parks to waterfront views, and along with all of that some great homes. This is an excellent place to move if you want to be part of the big city and yet enjoy a bit of peace and quiet.

It's close to the downtown area, very accessible via major roads, and has some nice restaurants and stores nearby. It's a great spot for families with kids or those that just want to enjoy a nice part of town with a great riverfront view. This is a preferred area to live overall!

"Nice neighborhood especially when you get close to the water"

I used to date a woman who lived in this part of Detroit. I don't remember exactly what street she lived on, but it was close to the water. I drove down here a few times to visit her, and tried to familiarize myself with the area a bit.

I do remember this area being close to Gross Pointe. That being said, I liked this neighborhood. It looked clean enough and quiet enough as I drove through here. I noticed a lot of parks around here also, and they were decently maintained. A friend and I recently came back through this area to visit someone else, and not much has changed.

Now, some of these houses by the water are indeed very nice. Must be some expensive property. There is even a little marina in the area, and you see a lot of boats and yachts off the water.

As far as amenities, it's your standard Detroit fare, a little bit of retail activity, but not much. East Jefferson Street is the main street over here, so there are you get where you need to go on Jefferson. The Fisher Mansion is close by as well if you are interested in seeing it. A guy I used to work with says the food is great in there.
