If you are into Indie and foreign films, then the Ritz East or the Ritz 5 are your best bet. Both are in Center City and they are literally around the corner from one another. They are clean and spacious but they are rather small compared to the other theaters in the city.

If you like the big budget blockbusters, then the Rave in University City is the perfect choice. It can get a bit crowded quickly because it is in the university district, but the seat are comfortable and the theaters are larger than most in the city.

I think a great movie theater to go to in the city is the Ritz East. It's a Landmark Theater, so it has that old-time movie theater feel with non-traditional movie theater snacks. It's more of an experience than just going to see a movie. There is also a Ritz at the Bourse. Both theaters play popular and some indie movies.

The most popular movie theaters are the ones at Neshaminy Mall and the one at Franklin mills mall. The one at Neshaminy is called AMC and the one at Franklin Mills Mall is the same. While Franklin Mills usually has slightly lower ticket prices, Neshaminy's seat hand rests go up so you can snuggle or sit tight with your friends. Both places offer student discounts for tickets on certain days. They also have member cards that can help you save money if you watch movies a lot.
