"Berkeley Hills South"
If you like the Berkeley Hills, then you will love Upper Rockridge, since it is basically a carbon copy of the hills north of 24. Upper Rockridge is just east of Rockridge, north of Mountain View Cemetery and west of the 13. Many of the large beautiful homes are newer because the 1991 firestorm leveled homes in the area. The views of the Golden Gate and SF are amazing and the proximity to the freeways, Oakland and Berkeley make it a perfect fit for commuters in any direction. Lake Temescal and the Caldecott Tunnel is only a few miles away and if there is one knock to the area it is the traffic noise that inevitably floats up from the ever packed 24.
This is only a residential section. The roads twist over the hillside like a bed of snakes and you cannot find a leafier neighborhood. It is great family living if you can afford it.
