"Upscale Community. Perfect for Nature Lovers"

Arnold Creek is an upper middle class neighborhood in SW Portland that borders the Tryon Creek State Natural Area, a hugely popular state park. Nature lovers come from all over to hike and enjoy Arnold Creek that runs through the park and provides a cool respite during Oregon’s warmer summer days.

Arnold Creek offers something for everyone. Besides the beautiful nature parks, this community boasts some newer, beautiful homes set on mature lots with lots of trees. But there are also plenty of older, more affordable homes that give this neighborhood a nice mix. Clearly a residential community, this is where one would live if they desire to reside is a peaceful, relaxing setting. The schools are excellent which also makes this a highly desirable location for families.

Only 15 minutes or so from downtown Portland, Arnold Creek is also just 10 minutes from popular Lake Oswego, which has wonderful restaurants and upscale shopping.

"Tucked Away Near a Natural Park"

Arnold Creek is a SW Portland neighborhood that is near Markham and Marshall Park. One great thing about this area is that it is so close to the Forest Highlands and Tryon Creek State Park. Tryon Creek is actually the only state park in Oregon. There is a lot to see! The park has tons of nature trails and many cyclists come here to bike on the paved trails. It is also possible to camp and birdwatch at Tryon Creek. This park is a major plus for those living in Arnold Creek, as they can easily "get away from it all."

Arnold Creek is actually closer to Lake Oswego than it is to downtown Portland. As a result, residents may find themselves seeking out entertainment and dining options in Lake Oswego for convenience sake. The good news is that Lake Oswego is quite a nice area with a relaxing vibe. The artificial lake also satisfies the need for outdoor aquatic activities like boating.

Those who choose to live in Arnold Creek will find that they have a tranquil and relaxed way of life. There is little commerce in this area. However, this part of town is close to all the necessary conveniences when they are necessary, but it also feels quite tucked away.

"Suburban Residential Neighborhood With Lots of Trees"

Arnold Creek is along the Southern edge of Portland, just North of Lake Oswego, a wealthy suburb of Portland. As the name suggests, a creek cuts through the center of the neighborhood. This wooded residential enclave borders several parks, including the large Tryon Creek State Park to the east.

You'll find lots of trees and green spaces here, but not a lot of shopping. Residents usually drive elsewhere for shopping, dining, and nightlife, and there isn't much reason to travel here unless you live in Arnold Creek.

The neighborhood is mainly single family homes set on large suburban lots and surrounded by lots of older trees. There are no apartment or condo buildings to be found here. An upper-middle-class neighborhood, residents seem to be well established. There isn't a lot of turnover, and most homes are occupied by retirees or empty nesters. During the day, the neighborhood seems empty, because there aren't many kids and the residents of Arnold Creek tend to commute by car rather than walking, biking, or taking public transit. It doesn't seem like the sort of place where the neighbors talk to each other.

Arnold Creek seems less welcoming to newcomers than other areas of Portland. It has a reputation for being a fairly insular community. Those who live here seem to enjoy it, though, and the neighborhood is very safe.
