St. Louis Park is a first-ring suburb, which means its location is closest to the Twin Cities, when compared to farther reaching suburbs elsewhere in Hennepin County. Cities close to St. Louis Park include Edina, Golden Valley, Minnetonka, Plymouth, and Hopkins, to name a few. Because of its desirable, commutable location and idyllic housing options, St. Louis Park is home to roughly 45,000 Minnesotans.

Originally known as Elmwood, St. Louis Park became a top housing option for those seeking ideal proximity to Minneapolis and St. Paul.
