"Ross Alley: Convenient"

This alley is pretty short but it has so much. It is convenient because one could just cross it to get to Jackson St., or Washington St., both of which have multiple shops and restaurants. Not only does this alley lead to great places, but within itself, there are shops. A famous fortune cookie factory is located here and tourists that come to visit San Francisco come to this shop to taste the baked goods. There is also a 98 cent store for everyday supplies, or souvenirs. The alley also has a copy and printing place and a hair salon, though its not really a salon, the person just gives simple hair cuts. It's amazing what such a small alley can hold, but it is worth going too, even if it's just to pass by. The ground is not exactly the cleanest, it has bird droppings, gum, stains, etc and it does not have houses. But every street has bad aspects to it, this alley may be dirty, but it is worth visiting.

"I'm Waiting for the New Improved Ross Alley"

On of the most infamous alleys in San Francisco History is Ross Alley. Located between Washington and Jackson close to Grant Ave. in Chinatown. Ross alley used to be home to Gambling Dens, Brothels and Opium Dens. Now the most visable tenant is The Golden Gate Forture Cookie Factory. If you have a chance take a moment to buy some fortune cookies and marvel at the process that results innthese tasty treats. Also spend a little time to appreciate the murals depiticting everday life in Chinatown that flank the alley. Keep in mind all of the alleys in San Francisco are scheduled for renovation in the near future.
