Just west of the busier Greenwood Avenue North, Palatine gets pretty busy during the week, especially during rush hour. This is the time to avoid walking because there are no sidewalks and pedestrians could be in trouble. The traffic is not real fast, but it is there and the street can be crowded. If yout ake 117th west to 3rd Avenue NW this will lead you to many businesses and eateries.

Palatine Avenue North is just a block west of Greenwood Avenue, a major commuting corridor that is the furthest west of all major arterials in North Seattle. Palatine Avenue doesn't have any sidewalks, but most of the time cars drive slowly. During the rush hour in the afternoon, however, traffic increases greatly as cars look for alternatives to traffic-clogged Greenwood Avenue, so it pays to be a little more careful then.
