Mt. Adams is definitely a good choice. I also recommend Over-the-Rhine. With the revitalization and increased housing inventory in OTR, it is the up-and-coming place to be for singles and young professionals.

I would definitely recommend Mt. Adams because it's full of vibrant people that are often out socializing at nearby bars or restaurants. You can meet all sorts of people just walking through the streets. Mt. Adams also sells a lot of apartments and condos, which is great for those looking to live alone.
