A centrally located place selling wine, craft beer, and liquor is Hyde Park Wine & Spirits. They are located in a strip mall at the corner of Madison and Edwards. Jungle Jim's in Fairfield also has a huge selection of wine, beer, and liquor.
The Party Source in Bellevue is a great place to buy alcohol. The reason a lot of people buy liquor (hard liquor) in Kentucky is because the Ohio taxes have always been higher (not sure if this still holds true or not.) In the past, it has been frowned upon to buy liquor in Kentucky and then drive right back to Ohio, because you are avoiding paying Ohio taxes on your purchases. Liquor in Ohio is sold at places authorized by the state state liquor stores), so it is harder to find hard liquor than wine or beer (which you can find at many grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations.) In Kentucky, lots of places sell liquor, making it easier to purchase. The Party Source has a huge selection of wines, beer, and liquor.

I've often heard people say the best place to buy liquor is just across the river in Kentucky. They have a several liquor stores in Covington and Newport; and from what I hear they sell for less than Ohio.
There used to be some sort of problem with that a few years back. Ohio didn't like the idea of people getting their alcohol in Kentucky.
