I will always love Ambar in Clifton as it was the first Indian restaurant I ate at. The restaurants in the same family are all on par (Kanak in Montgomery, Baba India in Oakley, etc.). Shaan is good for the buffet, I've never tried anything else there. However, if you want a special Indian dining experience, I highly recommend Bombay Brazier in Montgomery. They are an upscale Indian restaurant with nicer decor, a large location, and some really good food.

Definitely check out Dusmesh on Ludlow...it's such a great hidden gem in Cincinnati, and was voted best new Cincinnati restaurant last year. Their food is amazing and the service is also wonderful. All the places others have listed are also delicious...so I'm sure you'll have a great experience either way! Enjoy!!!

Heather, one of my favorite Indian dishes is aloo gobi, so I've tried it at a number of different restaurants. The one I had at Bombay Brazier was made with red potatoes, quite a nice change from the mealier potatoes typically used. The dishes are also nicely presented, making the food look more upscale than your typical Indian restaurant, as well.
