It really depends on if you want authentic Mexican cuisine or the Americanized version of Mexican food as to which restaurant is the best. And also, maybe, your budget. Nada located in Downtown Cincinnati is a Mexican restaurant unlike no other and it is priced like no other as well. It is expensive, especially for Mexican food, but it has gotten some good reviews. I personally haven't eaten there, mainly because I don't think you need to pay a lot to get tasty Mexican fare. To me, the best Mexican restaurant is La Mexicana located across the river on Monmouth Street in Newport. They are very reasonably priced and the food is SO good. Every time I eat at La Mexicana, I can't wait to go back. My boyfriend is from California and is used to good, authentic Mexican food, especially from the taco trucks. He said those serve some of best Mexican food you can find where he's from, so he has standards above your typical Americanized Mexican food. La Mexicana wins on all counts with him. He said the tacos are extremely good and authentic, just like he's used to. While I've never had any tacos from a truck in California, I can tell you that La Mexicana is the absolute best Mexican food I've had in Cincinnati...even if it is in Newport, Kentucky.
