I might be biased because I went there, but I consider Summit Country Day to be one of the best schools in the city. Though it's a Catholic school, the faculty and staff are so warm and welcoming, and make every child feel loved and appreciated. I graduated from Summit after 14 years at the school, and I am happy to credit it with all of my post-graduation successes. My 7-year-old sister is going into 3rd grade there this coming fall, and she absolutely loves it. She used to be a very shy girl, but has made many friends and feels at home at Summit. I also agree with SuzM that Seven Hills is a great private school as well. Both schools have a downside when it comes to price, though.

The Seven Hills School has one of the best private elementary schools in Cincinnati, especially if you're looking for a non-denominational school. Other good private elementary schools in Cincinnati are typically parochial.
