Though many people only know the name "Anderson Ferry" as being the long street that runs through part of the West Side, there is an actual ferry with the same name. It's at the end of this road, and has been in operation since 1817. It runs daily, taking pedestrians, bikes, cars, and motorcycles between the I-75/I-71 Brent Spence Bridge and the I-275 West Bridge. Many people use it to save time and gas, and to get to CVG airport more quickly. It's only $0.50 for pedestrians, $4.00 for a car, and $2.00 for a motorcycle. I knew about the Anderson Ferry, but didn't realize it was still in operation. Years ago they were supposed to be shutting it down, so my father decided we should all go on one last ride before it stopped running forever. We did it as an historic thing. Several of us drove out, drove our cars onto the ferry there and rode across and back. It was cool just for the fun of it.
