South Mississippi River Blvd, Highland

The Mississippi River Blvd. runs for several miles along the western edge of St. Paul, next to the river, and along the east side of the road are some of the finest and most expensive houses in the whole city. The route is very popular with walkers/joggers and cyclists, as it connects to amenities such as Hidden Falls Park, Highland Village, Grand and Summit Avenues and the colleges there, and bridges over the river. At the north end, it becomes Minneapolis' East River Road, which leads you straight into the University of Minnesota East Bank campus. While it's a beautiful route for recreation, green in summer, and a winter wonderland after a good snowfall, the traffic can get to be "a bit much" during rush hour.
