"A beautiful little city south of Denver"

Castle Rock has seen incredible growth in the past 20 years. It used to be mainly surrounded by outer lying ranches with a quaint little Main Street where you could often see cowboys strolling around in their cowboy hats. Over time it has exploded into what is now many subdivisions, stores, businesses, and restaurants. The old downtown with its courthouse still looks very much the same as it did years ago as do the shop across the street. The stores may have changed, but the old town feel is the same. Now, this is a city that accommodates many families and is geared towards the family lifestyle.

The rec center here is great with a weight room, many different classes, a traditional pool, and even an indoor water park for the kids to enjoy year-round. There is a very community feel to the place even with the large number of residents.

Traffic throughout Castle Rock isn't bad, but can get a little congested on the major arteries and on the highway itself, although the highway is much better now than in years past due to the expansion.

Dining out and shopping are all located within Castle Rock. There are numerous restaurants to choose from as well as strip malls, and there is a fabulous outdoor outlet mall with many retailers. The outlet mall also has a small play ground for kids and a food court. Several restaurants are on the south side of the outlet mall for more relaxed dining.

Overall, I think Castle Rock is a great place to live. I lived there a number of years ago and enjoy the accessibility of everything without the true hustle and bustle of being in a larger city.

"Good schools, great views and nice people"

Castle Rock is a great place, it has a reputations for good schools, a peaceful reprieve from Denver and great mountain views. There are a lot of new neighborhoods in and around Castle Rock some are cookie cutter neighborhoods and some are gorgeous multi-million dollar estates. There are 100+ year old homes in the old town center. The great part about the community is that it is not really a suburb of Denver, kind of like how Boulder to the north is not a suburb of Denver. Castle Rock is more of a hilly getaway between Denver and the Springs.

Although Interstate 25 running through the center of Castle Rock dominates the town, you can get away from the highway and get into some really nice hilly front range foothill country. Up and away from town you could find a fairly large chunk of land and a nice big home for much cheaper than the suburbs of Denver or downtown. The commute on the interstate can sometimes be a pain, but the highway is better here than downtown or to the north towards Boulder.

Castle Rock has cool rock formations--a prominent rock you can easily spot coming in and out of town on the interstate give the town its name. There are also lots of shopping (there is an outlet mall right off the interstate) good school, many parks, trails and Red Hawk Ridge Golf course.
