Moving from St Pete Fl to the Castro - are there jobs?

It depends what industry you are in. If you are involved in high tech--a programmer or developer--you will have no problem finding a job, the Bay Area can't get enough of those guys (they have to import them from India, basically). If you have only the most general skill, they you are more likely to have a hard time finding steady work. That's been my experience anyway.
