Help me decide between moving to Nob Hill and Lower Haight/Hayes Valley!

I have lived in the Mission for 2.5 years and love the easy (walking) access to restaurants, culture (dance studios, artisan boutiques, etc) and grocery stores. I don't love the smell of the 16th street station or the human feces on my street. So I'm looking for a nicer neighborhood for sure, but still hope to find something with relatively good access to some of the things I named. I have an offer for an apartment on the border of Hayes Valley/Lower Haight, which is pretty nice (and I know that neighborhood would be pretty good for what I'm looking for) but I like the apartment in Nob Hill slightly better that I have an offer for. So I would lean toward that but am worried Nob Hill will be...a little boring? Or just that I will have to walk "forever" to find cool things that were always around the corner in the Mission, or at least not so far in Hayes/Lower Haight. Please tell me how good the walkability/access is in Nob Hill, and what you would do! Am I resigning myself to a boring life if I choose the preferred apartment in Nob Hill?

If you want to get away from people crapping on your front steps, move to Nob Hill. Hayes/Haight is getting the same influx of homeless people kicked out of mid-Market as Mission, and both will likely get worse. Living somewhere pleasant and safe can be boring in a good way, like a warm bath or a cozy blanket. Most importantly, you really seem to prefer the Nob Hill apt and are questioning yourself--maybe think through whether you really want to move and whether either apt is exactly right for you. Maybe a compromise like Noe?
