Philadelphia has some of the most interesting and creative tours in the country. At least in my opinion. The walking, van, bus, and boat tours are all the rave of the city dwellers and visitors.

One of the traditions of Philadelphia around Halloween is to go on the Terror Behind The Walls Tour. This guided "tour" features Eastern state Penitentiary, one of America's most infamous prisons. Groups make their way through the corridors of the supposed haunted prison. It is said to be an experience you will never forget.

One of the tour guide services in Philadelphia is the Free & Friendly Tour which explores the history that lies in Old City and South Street. Another service called Awfully Nice Tour has nothing but good reviews for its driving tour service around the city's most interesting spots.

A more interesting tour is Ride The Ducks. This boat shaped vehicle drives around key points of Center City before plunging into the Delaware River for a -you guessed it- river tour. Visitors and natives alike constantly recommend this experience during the summer months.

Check out the CityPass. It offers a nice discount on many of the tours worthy of participation.
