Place to live in philadelphia PA? Safe for ladies and easy to commute

Hi All,

I have newly relocated to Collegeville PA for work. My wife is also looking for a job, she does not know driving and its appears, she would get a job outside Collegeville, hence looking for a place to live in philly, easy and safe for her to commute through train?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would say living in Center City or washington Sq West in Philly is safe.
