Most downtown homes consist of apartments and condos. To get a place with a nice little yard, you would have to be on the outskirts of downtown. Your best bet would be towards South Philadelphia in the direction of South Street. The further south you go in Center City, there are newly built and renovated homes which are close enough to center city to give you a downtown feel.
