How much does it cost to rent a parking spot in the city?

Parking seems to be a major issue in Philadelphia, so where do residents park? Do they rent parking spots? How much do parking spots cost?

Many of the parking garages you see around Philadelphia will have a monthly parking option, where you pay one fee for a month and get to park your car there as often or as little as you'd like. Many residents do this, and also those who drive into the city for work will also have a monthly parking space reserved.

The price depends on the parking garage, really. It's normally more expensive to park in covered parking garages than open-air parking garages. Monthly parking spots in garages range from around $150 to $450. Most are right around $200-250.
