"A good place to fly a kite"

Marina Blvd is one of those places that is so versatile. Sure, it's a great place to get a fabulous view of the Golden Gate Bridge, but it's also a great place to fly a kite. The Marina Green or the Little Marina Green run along Marina Blvd where the boats are docked. They are huge patches of green grass that are great for kite flying. The large Marina Green is also good for other sporting events and is frequently rented out for festivals and soccer games.

Marina Blvd is also the place where you can see bikers, joggers and exercise enthusiasts biking, running, or walking along the 3 mile path. It can get a little windy, so you should always wear layers.

Along Marina Blvd, you pass Crissy Field, a great place for a picnic. There's also Sports Basement for a kite, Frisbee or to fix a flat. In the other direction you'll find a 24Hr Fitness, a Safeway, and a Starbucks.

Parking is free at the Marina Green and the Little Marina Green lots. But don't park in the reserved spots or you will get a ticket or possibly towed. Those are reserved for the slip owners.
Pros
  • Great open space
  • Great views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge
  • Great for running

"Great view out into the bay"

Marina Boulevard runs off Doyle Drive which also runs from the Golden Gate Bridge. The street runs south of San Francisco Bay and north of the Presidio. Exploratorium is also located on Marina Boulevard. Tourists should definitely check out the Exploratorium, the experience you will get here is amazing. The Exploratorium is great for the family and kids. You can also stop at the parking lot on the other side of the Marina Green field where you can take a look at out into the bay, a spectacular view. Other than this there are just mostly houses and also a Safeway for your grocery needs.

"A Beautiful Scenery"

Marina is a fairly even sloped scenic drive. Passing by, big houses, nice cars, and wonderful yachts welcome you. One side of the street is lined with houses which face the beauty of the ocean water. This street is far from quiet. People can be seen jogging, running, biking, and kite flying. Many events are held, not as often as every weekend, but a lot more than once a month. This street is wide enough for 2 lanes heading in each direction. Because this is a residential area, the speed limit is low, perhaps no more than 25 miles per hour. This may contribute to the presence of numerous stop signs instead of traffic lights. Marina controls traffic by putting traffic lights right at the border where the freeway and Marina meet. Stopped there, one would notice the presence of the Exploratorium and the Palace of Fine Arts; both an excellent choice for an educational field trip.

"Very pretty street on the Ocean front with view of docks and plenty of large housing!"

Marina Boulevard is one of San Francisco’s premier streets when it comes to housing. It begins right off of Highway 101 and extends all the way to the end of the Ocean front on the north end of San Francisco’s marina district. Traffic here is busy but never too busy to avoid as it does act as a hub to San Francisco’s downtown and famous waterfront attractions such as Fisherman’s Wharf.

The street consists mainly of very big housing and parking lots to docks. It is a very pretty street with lots of green. It is right on the waterfront and if one desires, one can park right on Marina Boulevard and walk less than 50 yards to the Ocean. There are no beaches here as they are mainly docks however.

The housing is large sized when it comes to San Francisco housing. However, the price of these houses isn’t too expensive due to the fact that the Marina district is mainly built on landfall which poses an earthquake danger. Nonetheless, the houses are amazing both on the inside and outside.
