"On weekends, *great* for running"

This is one the major thoroughfares in Golden Gate Park, and as such, it can be very heavily trafficked during the week. But on the weekends, it's closed to autos (well, at least to all except those that mistakenly end up there), so it's an excellent place to stroll, rollerblade, bike, or run. Begin at JFK and Great Highway (next to the Beach Chalet), go up to the De Young and back again, and you got yourself a solid 5 miles in one of the most scenic areas SF has to offer.

"One of Golden Gate Parks "Main Veins""

JFK Drive is one of the main routes through Golden Gate Park. There is plenty to see and do around here, but expect the traffic to be high during the summer time when the tourists come out of the wood work. One of my favorite things in the park is the Japanese Tea Garden. The Garden is quiet possibly one of the most relaxing atmospheres I've even experienced. I would definitely recommend dropping by there if you visit Golden Gate Park.

"kind of a paradise"

It runs through Golden Gate Park and is home to recreational activities. It also houses the Conservatory of Flowers and De Young Museum. During the weekend there is a ton of traffic. People rollerblading in bikinis and just jogging around the street. Many people love this street because its so lively. If you want to live there you better be prepared because its very lively.

"Great great great area"

John F Kennedy street is the perfect place to go with family. It has beautiful scenery in the park and it goes all the way to the bay. On a nice day, it is a wonderful experience to drive through and just have fun with recreational activities and such. There is also a crossing, I believe, with Fulton street which I love the accessability.

"Busy street in Golden gate Park"

John F. Kennedy Dr. runs though Golden Gate Park. It is one of the busier streets in Golden Gate park. It starts at the beach and goes all the way to the panhandle. It is used mainly for transportation. It is a popular place for riding bikes and walking dogs. There are a few places where you could rent a peddle boat on the lake. You can also rent bicycles and 4-wheelers. It also runs by Keezar Stadium. You would probably pass by this street if ever in Golden Gate Park.

"Through The Golden Gate Park"

The JFK sometimes closes to traffic on weekends, leaving it perfect for taking a walk or rollerblading down to the beach. It runs through the Golden Gate Garden and down to the ocean. Even while traffic is still allowed down the road, biking is reasonably safe as lanes outside of the car lanes are marked for bikers.

You may have heard of this street when it appeared in Back to the Future, also under the name of Riverside Drive!

"the main street running through Golden Gate Park"

JFK Drive is the main street running through Golden Gate Park. At one end is Stanyan Street and the other end is the Ocean. I lived close to the Conservatory of flowers near Arguello/Fulton and and usually rode my bike all the way to the ocean on JFK drive through the park. On the way you passed the De Yong museum went under Park Presidio (19th ave) which is the most heavily trafficked road cutting through the park. Closer to the ocean just off JFK drive is the Golden Gate golf course, the best 9 hole municipal golf course for beginners and intermediates alike. Of course the Dutch windmill is the other landmark at the Ocean end of JFK drive. I love going to JFK drive especially on the weekends when the road is closed to cars.

"The street going through Golden Gate Park"

John F Kennedy Drive is the main street that goes through the amazing Golden Gate Park. There are so many different things to do in Golden Gate Park that if you take a drive down John F Kennedy Drive you are bound to find something you will love to do. The street is partially closed on Sundays so you may have to detour onto side streets.

"Road to the Golden Gate"

John F Kennedy Dr. is a meandering road through the famous Golden Gate Park. Sights along the drive include the Conservatory of Flowers and many museums and gardens. The Conservatory each year features the West Coast Dahlia Society. The exhibition includes huge plate-size flowers in a variety of brilliant colors and textures. The road passes the Japanese Garden made famous in the Wedding Planner.

"A place in time....."

John F. Kennedy Dr. will take you through the northeast section of Golden Gate Park, passed the Conservatory of Flowers. As America's oldest public conservatory, this botanical living museum, is a breathtaking Victorian wooden and glass structure which captures the heart and soul. Golden Gate Park is a veritable, green oasis in a metropolitan setting. From a Japanese Tea House to the conservatory, there is much to discover.

"golden gate parks main street?"

i would say this is the main street of golden gate park since most of the attractions of the park are off this street. it spans the whole park, on the west side theres a golf corse and just a little way east of it on the right hand side of the strret is a running track. further up is a places called strawberry hill (turn onto stow lake dr) its a cool little walking path thats encircled by lakes that has little paddle boats you can rent there and paddle around the lake with a special someone.

"Beautiful Street that runs through Golden Gate Park!"

John F. Kennedy Drive is Golden Gate Park’s main street. It is entirely engulfed by the park. It runs the whole way from the west end of the park all the way to the east end emptying out into Fell or Oak Street. There are many things to do on John F. Kennedy Drive. There are plenty of green and barbeque pits. Stow Lake is right off of JFK Drive. A bike ride or jog down JFK Drive will surely be gratifying. Right off of the street are two full sized soccer fields where lots of organized league games are played. Don’t expect to find any stores, shops, or houses on JFK Drive as there are none. Regardless, I don't think there are many better spots to go on a Sunday afternoon when it's sunny out than JFK Drive and Golden Gate Park.

"A Park Paradise"

You don't live on JFK Drive. You can't. It runs through Golden Gate Park and is home to recreational activities, drivers looking for a shortcut through the park and lots of beautiful scenery. It also houses the Conservatory of Flowers and De Young Museum. On Sundays JFK Drive is closed to auto traffic, and it's the perfect place to ride bikes, skateboard or do whatever it is you love to do...right in the middle of the street. There are also free swing dance lessons that take place and an area dedicated to rollerbladers.
