Well, in the Harlem area all together in 2010, 39 murders took place in the area. If you're a man you dont need to worry about assault or rape, but hundreds of burglaries and robberies. But Harlem is getting safer, in 2005, around 75 people were murdered in harlem. In 2012 im guessing somewhere around 35? Enjoy this great neighborhood of nyc. It has shops and resturants and nightlife, just walk with a crowd and you'll be fine.
