Any tips from locals for finding an apartment in Gramercy Park, New York City?

Try Craigslist first. They have the most comprehensive listings out of anything for New York. You can also try a brokerage website: Bond and Citihabitats are the two biggest and they have all of their listings on their sites. It's a real downer paying the broker fee (10 percent of a year's rent) but the vacancy is so low in New York right now that they're really hard to avoid. . . . especially in a neighborhood like Gramercy which is kind of exclusive.
