Are there any safe, affordable apartments / houses near DIA?

Specifically houses and apartments situated in safe and friendly communities, but with prices that wouldn't be too intimidating for young couples or college students.

Your best bet would be Green Valley Ranch or Montbello for being close to DIA. I personally wouldn't want to live in either of these places if I were a student as there are no colleges near by. The closest college would probably be Community College of Aurora. Reunion is a great new area that is right by DIA, but the prices are high for a student or young couple. So, to answer you're question, no, not really.
