Besides the Boulder Theater, are there any other good theaters in this area?

Chautauqua also puts on music, theater, dance and film events in their auditorium. Lots of folks just bring a picnic and lounge on the lawns around the area during a concert, as a low-cost option.

If you are looking for live music in Boulder both the Boulder Theater and the Fox Theater are great options. Both the Boulder Theater and the Fox Theater on University Hill have phone apps that you can use to follow their upcoming shows. This is a great way to stay tuned in to the live music scene in Boulder. Both the Boulder Theater and the Fox Theater are great live music venues, however the Boulder Theater hosts a variety of other events and plays some movies as well. There are many other live music options and you can find a weekly schedule in the Boulder Weekly newspaper that is free around town.

The Boulder Theatre does show some films but very rarely do they have live performances such as ballets or plays...it is pretty much booked up with live music shows. The best place in town for traditional theatre performances is The Dairy Center and Macky Auditorium up on the CU campus. The Boulder Dinner Theatre is really good too.
