"C Street, San Diego"

I rarely give negative reviews, though C Street was very poorly rated on my scale. On one of my latter trips to San Diego (we visit about once a year), we decided to stay with friends on C Street rather than stay in a hotel. The neighborhood, appearance wise, is matched with many in San Diego, beautiful and sunny! Though, the homes line the City College, so it is also very noisy, with house parties somewhere on your block every night, a lot of litter, and students taking up all of the parking. I would recommend living a bit further away from the campus or staying closer to the ocean if visiting.

"If you like shopping"

There are two shopping Centers near 3rd Avenue. Just take the Trolley to Horton Plaza, walk a few blocks and you will find many little cafes, book stores, and restaurants. On J St and 3rd you will find 3rd Avenue Farmers Market where the food is very excellent.

"Good Public Transportation"

3rd avenue is a decent street. There is nothing special about it except the Civic Center which is very nice. The best thing about 3rd Avenue is the transportation. The public transportation comes twenty four hours a day and it is not dirty and it is very safe probably not at night though because of random people walking on the street.

"College Students, this is the place to be"

Going to the University of California, this is a convenient location. Lots of college aged people to hang out with. Located really close to Balboa Park - gigantic - and Marston Mall. Probaby not an area for young kids, as we are a rowdy bunch! Partying is definitely a must when moving into this neighborhood.

"Busy Booming Block!"

3rd Avenue in San Diego is full of everything. There is a great museum, tons of shopping opportunities, and even a theater. It is a booming avenue full of life and has a great night scene. The street is never quiet due to all of the events that are happening. There is always traffic, so plan ahead!

"This street is divided by the Civic Center"

Located in the heart of downtown but north of the Gaslamp, this street has a few hidden gems. There are some good nightclubs with nice concert venues, and parking can usually be found in the evenings after the meters expire. It's not always as well lit as C Street or other areas of the Gaslamp, so be aware of that.

"Near the trolley and Horton Plaza"

Third Avenue near downtown (between Ash through to Broadway) is a decent area of downtown. The trolley stops at 3rd and C, and there is a 24 hour public restroom there that is clean and safe. There is also the Civic Center, as well as some small cafes nearby. At night, the homeless congregate there so if that makes you nervous, be aware of it.
