West Town isn't too bad, and I've walked through there at night a few times and felt reasonably safe. That said, I do think there are a few shadier areas that you need to be aware of so be careful.

Some parts of West Town have a higher crime rate than the rest of the city, but that's to be expected in almost any neighborhood. As long as you steer clear of these high crime areas, you'll be safe in West Town.
