"Hey I know what you mean!"
I was visiting a friend in Catonsville and also in Gwynn Oak. I drove Route 40 to escape 95 South one day. Mistake! Thanks for the great review. I know exactly what you mean. I saw the same stuff you describe. Thanks for mentioning it. I'm from Northern VA, in the Tysons Corner area.

Great review! I'd like to know other areas to visit and shop. I especially like good, clean vintage thrift shops. If you know any in the area off Route 40, I am interested. Thanks for the review of Route 40 in Baltimore area.

"Filthy, dirty Baltimore at it's best."
Much of route 40 in Baltimore and the surrounding area is filthy. There are some decent places to shop along Route 40, but driving past the sketchy inns and restaurants is not worth it. Use Route 40 only when you need to, as it tends to get backed up during high traffic times and when I95 is busy.
