"Perfect place for a long walk"

Lorimer Street extends through WIlliamsburg and Greenpoint Brooklyn. If youa re in the mood for along walk, you can take Lorimer street and visit these two hip neighborhoods that are always teeming with young people and energy. While you are there, you can stop in one of the thousands of restaurants, or in an up and coming designer clothing store, or even in an artist gallery space.

"Cool music there"

Wyckoff Street is very far out in Brooklyn but it is beginning to bubble with a cool music scene. There is a place on Wyckoff street where bands play almost every weekend and you can go out there to see new and upcoming music. While you are there, grab some Chinese food or burrito from a local restaurant.

"A nice place to visit"

This neighborhood was once sited to be the next Soho. It never quite made it there, but it does have many terrific attractions. The first one mainly being the view. Take a walk from Washington Street to the water and you will see a fantastic view of Manhattan. This area is under the Manahttan Bridge, so it is a very quick and easy trip to Manhattan.

"On it's way up"

Since rents are rocketing to sky high prices, Bed Stuyvesant is a good place to move to if you are a young student looking for cheap rent. Gates avenue is still pretty tough, but as the neighborhood prices become more and more demanding, lots of young people have moved to this area to save money.

"great for an afternoon walk"

Park Slope is a popular and expensive area to live for good reason! 6th street is absolutely beautiful. The brownstones are lined up, one next to the other, each one as beautiful as the next. This is a very residential street, so I would recommend taking a stroll with your partner on a weekend afternoon. Then you can stop by one of the many fantastic restaurants for a bite to eat.

"Beautiful area to walk along"

This street is a beautiful one. It is in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn. In the fall when the leaves are turning, it is a great place to walk along and visit all of the quaint shops and restaurants that make Fort Greene so popular. You will likely see many people with their dogs perusing a book store or just hanging out on the street talking.

"A walk on Myrtle Avenue"

Myrtle avenue is definitely becoming a cooler street to walk down. It runs the length of Clinton Hill and is right by Pratt Institute, which is a great art school. This is definitely one of the busier thorough streets of the area, and so it has more stores, video rental chains, and supermarkets. I would take a walk down Myrtle avenue to get a real sense of the neighborhood.

"Better than Bed Stuyvesant"

I lived on St. James Place over five years ago before it had become gentrified. I'll be honest, it was a pretty scary walk home from the subway (which is only two blocks away). It has gotten a lot better in the past few years. There are lots of young people living there because the rent is relatively cheap, and you can walk a little ways to Fort Greene, which has lovely buildings and architecture.

"Not too pretty"

Metropolitan avenue is a staple in Brooklyn. It goes on for miles and you can walk the length of it quite comfortably. There is not however, much to look at on this avenue. The buildings and shops are rather unattractive and in fact, sometimes the walk is rather dull. You will however, run into many shops and restaurants which are all great to go in and take a peek.

"Away from the crowds"

South 2nd Street is a great street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn because it is away from the crowds. Still somewhat untouched by the real estate boom, South 2nd street still has the flavor of old Williamsburg, before it became gentrified. Go take a quick walk there from the L station subway stop and you will get a taste of this flavor. Check out the great Mexican restaurant on the block, and if you feel like taking a walk to Manhattan, just walk a few blocks to the bridge!

"North 6th Street is hipster central"

Right off the L strain subway stop, North 6th Street is teeming with restaurants, shops, and young twenty somethings. It is the epicenter of the hipster youth, who spend their time hanging out at coffee shops and going to listen to live music. If you live there, you cannot walk down North 6th street without running into at least twenty people you know. This street is fun, fun, fun!

"South Miami Charm"

Sunset Drive is one of the few areas that has always kept it's charm and just gets batter and better with time. You can drive to go shop, and it is close to the University of Miami and to all of South Miami. The neighborhood retains an architectural Spanish charm as well as large and shady trees, which are just beautiful. You are a very short distance form coconut grove which is filled with artists and innovative people of all kinds.

"NE 135th St is not what it once was"

This was once a middle class Miami neighborhood and the home of North Miami High School. The neighborhood has changed since the 1960's. I went to high school there and now when I visit, it is virtually unrecognizable. The houses are run down and the school has bars and fences. It is sad for me to see how deteriorated this area, which I once loved, has become. They are re-building the school and hopefully the neighborhood will also begin to make improvements.

"Beautiful wide avenue away from the hustle and bustle"

This is a road that is south of downtown Miami which is lined with beautiful apartment buildings, which are beautifully landscaped. Behind the banks and commercial real estate, are beautiful high rise apartments overlooking the bay and Key Biscayne. Some are even award winning for their architecture. Brickell avenue is an area that was always exclusive and keeps getting better. Once the home of many large mansions which are now long gone and in it's place are large apartment buildings.

"Great place to live and work"

Washington avenue still has the architectural facade of the 1930's and 1940's. Young innovative people now work and live in these buildings. Types would include artists, doctors, and business people of all kinds. This is an area that flourished until the 1960's when it became run down and abandoned. Now it has been rediscovered and is finding it's resurgence as part of South Beach. This is a great place to live and work, especially for someone who does not drive a car.

"125th st. is great for multi-culture"

This area is also known as little Haiti. If you want to get a well rounded flavor for not just South Beach, but Miami in general, stop in some of the local stores. Taste the creole cuisine and mingle with the locals. This is not an affluent area but it sure is a lot of fun to visit.

"North Bay Road Is Luxury Living"

North Bay Road is, in my opinion, the most exclusive street in Miami or Miami Beach. It is the home to movie stars, singers, and wealthy people from all over the world. Homes on the bay overlook the bay and have spacious grounds. It is only a residential area and so you wmust drive to get groceries or go shopping, though the distance is not far.

"Bal Harbor has the most exclusive mall in America"

Bal Harbor is beautiful with it's manicured and tree lined streets. Though the real attraction here is the Bal Harbor mall which I think is the most exclusive mall in America. It has Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpel, among many other high end shops. They have a Sak's Fifth Avenue, a Neiman Marcus, Louis Vitton and most other upscale clothing and accessory stores. They also have high end restaurants. You would not be surprised to see celebrities shopping at this mall. They have an open atrium with water falls, which gives a luxurious feel. I would highly recommend visiting Bal Harbor.

"Terrific mall for daily shopping"

This mall has absolutely everything! It has a Macy's and Bloomingdale's, and Nordstrom. Among the regular stores that are usually located in malls, it also has The Gap, J. Crew, Ann Taylor and more. It is moderately crowded during the winter, which is the busy season, and relatively empty in the summer months. The Latin flavor of the workers and the shoppers gives this mall a different feel than most others. It adds a festive flare which makes it quite fun to shop there.

"Great place to raise children"

Miami Shores village has it's own country club, golf course, and private water park. The main village street, NE 2nd avenue, has a library and quaint dining. This is a great place to raise a family because of it's neighborhood feel and excellent law enforcement security. The neighborhood also has bay front properties and a community center for the children. I have spent many happy days there.

"Great place for getting to know people"

Biscayne Boulevard has so much to offer. There are excellent tanning salons, discount shopping outlets, and restaurants where you can go to socialize and meet people. All this and it is a short distance to the beach. It has high end expensive restaurants as well as dining that is more affordable. If you are looking to eat fancy, I would recommend Morton's Steakhouse.
