"Second Ward, Houston"

The Second Ward is one of the oldest portions of the city of Houston. In fact, it is one of the four original wards developed here in the 19th century. There are a number of nearby communities to this neighborhood. Some of these include Greater Eastwood and Magnolia Park. If you visit this area you will find easy access to major Houston roadways. The Second Ward is within close proximity to Interstate Highway 45, Interstate Highway 10, and the East 610 Loop. These roads provide visitors and residents with easy access to many other portions of the city. Here you will find older apartment complexes and residential choices.

The offerings here find it hard to compete with some of the more modern Houston locations. Attractions in this area keep it vital to the city. Port Houston Park is one of the attractions in the Second Ward. There are a number of busy streets in this neighborhood. Canal Street, Harrisburg Boulevard, and North Milby Street are a few of these locations. The Second Ward has an interesting history. It was considered Super Neighborhood #63 in the Houston area. This has long been considered a historical and political district. Today this community is primarily a Hispanic residential area.
