"La Cresta"

This is a neighborhood with about half of the homes located in Rancho Palos Verdes (south of Crest Road just west of Rolling Hills, and the area to the east of Crenshaw Boulevard north of Crest to Silver Spur Road, as well as the Wallace Ranch Project at the intersection of Armaga Springs Road and Highridge Road), with the rest of the homes in this area located in the City of Rolling Hills Estates (in the area north of Crest road bordered by Hawthorne Blvd, Indian Valley Road and Highridge roads ). Many of the homes in this area are in newer developments such as Island View homes, Wallace Ranch, The Ranch as well as other neighborhoods such as Del Cerro.

Del Cerro Park has some incredible views of Catalina and the Ocean. It is located at the end of Crenshaw. Highridge Park is one of the best parks on the Peninsula, and is very active during soccer season. This area is also home to many of the houses of worship on the Peninsula.

This area also has easy access to the Peninsula Center shopping area.

"La Cresta -- Great schools, great views"

La Cresta is a neighborhood in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes, which is part of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The Peninsula is located in Los Angeles County, CA. Homes in the La Cresta neighborhood often have stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. After all, the area is located at the top of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. The La Cresta area is bordered by the City of Rolling Hills to the east, Palos Verdes Land Conservancy acreage to the south, Hawthorne Boulevard and Indian Valley to the west and a jagged border to the north which includes Crestridge and Wallace Ranch.

The La Cresta area includes the developments of Pepper Tree, Cresta Verde, The Ranch, Wallace Ranch, Rolling Hills Country Estates, Vantage Point, Hillcrest Manor and Rolling Hills Park. The newer developments in this area are Ocean Terrace, Island View, and Sea Breeze. These homes are built on larger sites, some about a 1/2 acre. Homes sold in the La Cresta area in 2012 ranged from $950,000 to $1,840,000.

This area is home to two parks – Highridge Park and Del Cerro Park. Highridge Park is over ten acres, and has two regulation size soccer fields, a youth softball/baseball field, large playground area and running tracks. Many youth soccer and baseball organizations practice there. Ridgecrest Middle School is located across the street. Del Cerro Park is known for its hiking trail. The trail splits up to four trails which are part of the Canyons Ecological Reserve. These hikes are great for both beginners and the experienced hiker. From there, you can also enjoy great views of Catalina Island.

The Palos Verdes Unified School District oversees one elementary school and one middle school in the La Cresta area. Older students can choose between Palos Verdes High School and Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. St. John Fisher’s private elementary school and Church are also located in this area.
