What are the best neighborhoods in San Diego for a young, single woman?

Kinda hard to answer unless you want to provide a few more specifics. What are you looking for? Easy access to 20-something bars will be in Pacific Beach. Easy access to older men will be near La Jolla. Almost all areas of San Diego are safe for a young, single woman except southeast. It all depends on what else you are looking for.

irishgirl I did not originally ask the question but I am a single woman looking for easy access to bars and nightlife as well as being fairly close to the beach. I love the outdoors and would prefer not to live right in the thick of things ...Im looking for the best of both worlds.
