"nice developing area, near parks"

Pioneer Street is in South Brooklyn in the Red Hook neighborhood, and is undergoing a lot of recent changes. It still has an old-school Brooklyn feel but there are a lot of new construction developments and revitalization going on too. It seems to be a safe neighborhood and some areas have a nice view of the water. It is not very convenient to commute to Manhattan as the nearest subway stop is some distance away. Red Hook Park is adjacent and is a very nice park.
