"Ever so Thin Park"

The Panhandle is an fascinating juxtaposition of experiences. On both sides of this lush green area you'll find 4 lanes of one way traffic zipping along. Yet, somehow, you can find serenity in the urban sprawl in this one block wide strip of well kept greenery.

There's a bike path for walking and riding, courts for playing, and Bay Laurel trees for the wonderful aroma. One end of the park has a statue overlooking DMV which you can sit on and enjoy watching traffic go by. The other end is the eastern edge of Golden Gate park, where you can continue to ride with relative ease.

"Lively and fun night life"

The Panhandle area is for the younger crowd, as it seems to attract most USF students. As a result, this area is hopping at night. The most popular bars are along Turk and Masonic. The USF favorite, 1751 Social Club, hosts a variety of themed dance nights including jungle and R&B. The bar also features a late night dinner menu.

Check out the Papalote Mexican Grill on 24th and Valencia - everything on the menu is delicious. If you just want pizza, the college student staple, grab a pie from The Panhandle Pizza Company.

I wouldn't recommend this neighborhood for retirees or even families with kids, but singles and young marrieds would be just fine.
