I am not sure if the locals think there is alot of crime in Ocean Beach, San Francisco (it is not really a neighborhood onto itself but runs along the wester end of Outer Richmond and the Outer Sunset) but if you look at crime maps for crime reported along Ocean Beach or just within the frist few blocks of those neighborhood you basically find that since the beginning of this year (6 months) there have been more than 500 assaults and about 30 robberies.
There have not been any murders in that time frame.
I would call that fairly dangerous though not on the level of say the Mission or the Tenderloin.
