Spring Has Sprung

Since we are now officially in Spring( no matter that it is still darn chilly). Time Out NY has just published its list of 101 things to do in NYC in the Spring. I have already got doing some of the things the list mentions ( taking long walks, walking through the Union Square Green Market, Dining al fresco, eating Icecream ( ok a couple of sugar free Eddy's fruit bars everyday) .. what about you? wish the weather would get better though then it would really feel like Spring in my books at least.

I've been taking long walks for no reason, even when I have work I should be doing. I'm also going to a couple of social events each week, pretty consistently. That would have seemed unmanageable last winter.

Even though it is a little chilly, it's still really nice compared to how it's been. I've noticed that I'll walk everywhere the last couple of weeks. If I have to do something uptown, I'll just walk all the way back and try to catch a glimpse of something in the city I never noticed. And, every excuse I have to drink or eat outside, I've taken it . . .even if I'm shivering ever so slightly.

Timeout just did a write up on the best places to pick up on people in the spring. I know we were just talking on another post about people getting frisky and on an entirely different post about meeting people at The Strand. We clearly know our stuff!

The Ikea ferry one cracks me up.

@JenMac seems like all the city parks are hotbeds of flirting activity but what cracked me up was the staples at Union Square .. coy glances over the copy machine?????

@Everybody: Even I, a homebody, have gotten out a lot more. I have enjoyed the warmth of the sun and nice temps. However, that won't last as the weatherman said this weekend will get really cold compared to this week. Winter will be back for one last shot.

I've been wandering a lot lately, too. Being cooped up indoors for months will give you that urge, apparently. But I've also been spending a lot more money as a result. I guess winter was good for saving a few dollars, at least.

I am not an expert when it comes to shopping, or the time of the year when shopping is done most extensively, but I will tell you this. I think, logically speaking, that when the temps get warmer, people will venture outside. I also believe that to be a commonsense way of looking at it.

I have been shopping like mad. I can't. seem. to. stop. But this summer I am going to look stunning in all my new sandals and dresses!

Oh, it's so true about Kinkos/copy machine places! Nothing says love more eloquently than "Were you in line for the photocopier!" I hope to be finishing my novel (first draft) in the next few weeks, and the first thing I always do when I finish a book is print out and bind a draft for editing at a copy shop. Maybe I'll discover another "muse" along the way...

@BroadwayBK Hah! I know what you mean...I can't keep away from the sandals and the dresses on the racks either. I just bought a great dress that ties around the waist with a bow in the back and thought,"But I'm not even a woman who wears bows!"

I just walk around lately with a goofy grin on my face. I'd like to think it's only spring doing that.

Yowza @BK/@Uraniumfish! I just bought a gorgeous summer cotton dress that is really quite scandalously short, but I do love it....

@ajadeidelaist See? The disease is spreading...@DBlack Yeah, I do the goofy grin too. I swear I must be a very simple human being, because apparently all I need in order to be happy is sunshine.

@uptowngirl HA. You're right - nice boys beware!

@Uraniumfish I know; I've never shopped for anything with such excitement. I think it's just nice being outside, so of course you want to look good doing it.
