Living in Lawndale, Chicago - what to expect, is it safe, lots to do?

Well, Lawndale has a lot of history, with the Civil rights movement back in the 60s having protests there, but it isn't the safest neighborhood, and there isn't a whole lot to do. If you live in Lawndale I doubt you'll be terribly happy about it. On the plus side you'll save money, and it's possible real estate in Lawndale could prove to be a wise investment, as there's a fair bit of room for improvement.
