Is La Veta a town that tourists visit? I saw a groupon or living social deal about it?

La Veta is a tourist area mostly because of the Spanish Peaks and then over La Veta pass to the Great Sand Dunes. La Veta itself is a small town in a nice valley/basin area under the Spanish Peaks, pretty forest and hiking trails, some camping and restaurants. It is not a hoppin' town like some may imagine if you describe it as touristy
