Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights has "you pick" in the fields every Saturday in season. You can pick a huge range of veggies and the farm is gorgeous. They have a farm stand as well, and there are miles of hiking trails in the woods, too. The farm is a public teaching farm and it offers lots of great classes and programs for kids and adults. It's a great place to spend some time.

Enjoy the John Jay Homestead Farmers Market in Katonah each Saturday from 9-1 .www.johnjayhomestead.org
Tours are now also available through the Homestead during those hours. There is also live Music and many wonderful vendors. Plus great ice cream and herbal lemonade available to cool off with. Last week the Katonah Museum had a tent and tables at which children were able to make puppets and color all influenced by the current exhibit :"Contemporary Chinese Photography"
I bought some incredibly young tender kale, learned about Pak Choi as opposed to Bok Choi and came home with my cherished Wave Hill Ciabatta Bread! New Vendor - "Healing Home Foods" - raw flax crackers filled and compressed with combinations of sundried tomatoes, figs, arugula, walnuts, ands zucchini! Plus that was only the Savory side of the tent - sweet granola combos were on the other side!

Yeah, there is Wilkens Fruit & Fir Farm in Yorktown Heights (about 2.4 miles away) where you can pick apples, peaches and pumpkins.
