Predominately residential, Hermosa is famous for being the birthplace of Walt Disney.

Walt Disney was born in Hermosa in 1901 in a small second-floor bedroom of a house on the corner of Tripp and Palmer. Today the two story house is split into upstairs and downstairs rental apartments. There currently is no marker in front of the home.

Another point of interest in Hermosa is Marathon Sports, located on Fullerton Avenue. This is a great place to get any kind of international soccer jersey.

Across from the high school is Kelvyn Park which features a two-story Georgian field house, which is very unusual for this area.

A notable restaurant to visit in Hermosa is Taqueria Poncitlan. Open since 1987 this is a family owned taqueria that is brightly decorated and boasts great food.
