Are there any parts of Hayes Valley to avoid?

Hayes is surrounded by some pretty bad neighborhoods. So it is kind of a mixed bag all the way through. The most dangerous areas are by Market St. and over by the Tenderloin. But really, you just need to be aware and use common sense. Don't go out in the middle of the night and stay aware of your surroundings. The usual advice when living in most spots in the City.
