Hanover St, Portsmouth

Hanover St. is part downtown and part residential neighborhood depending on where you are. The residential neighborhood is up and coming and as such less expensive than many areas, and yet with in minutes of downtown and all it has to offer. It is also the ONLY street in Portsmouth to have resident only parking.

It can be a bit noisy at night though, when people are walking back to their homes after a night out drinking. There are many homes and apartments being cleaned up and property values will continue to rise, as will rent.

Portsmouth, is of course the best town in NH, and frankly in the seacoast of Maine, NH and Mass. That is if you are looking for some nightlife and activity and walking distance to food, bars, shopping and nightlife. If you prefer a wooded home base, then go for some of the nice towns nearby.
