What's the general feeling in Grand Junction?

I affectionately describe it as a man's land, there is industrial and farming. Everywhere you look there are trucks, machines, horses, motorcycles, tractors etc...equipment for rent or for sale.

It has a desert feel but it is also like an oasis; green fields and trees along the mighty Colorado River. It is wilder than the Front Range and the red rim of Colorado Monument gives a steady wall enfolding the valley to the south.
