"Tax Incentive Reinvestment Zone"

In Central Houston, just Northwest of Downtown and Midtown is where you will find Fourth Ward. It is located inside the 610 Loop, and very convenient to most major freeways in Houston. Some of the main streets here are West Dallas St. and West Gray St.

The Fourth Ward is one of the smallest neighborhoods in Houston, made up of primarily Hispanics and African-Americans. This area of Houston has been recently renovated, and is made up predominately of single family, 2-story townhomes, averaging 1400 square feet. Shopping, entertainment, and night life are very convenient, and can even be traveled to by foot.

Although recently updated (because of a Houston project with tax incentives), I still don’t think I would move my family here. If you are looking for affordable housing that is centrally located where you can walk or ride a Metro Bus to destinations because of lack of transportation, then this area might be what you are looking for. The homes are newly constructed and offer an affordable real-estate price, and may work for young couples, singles, or retirees on a fixed income. Hopefully we will continue to see improvements in this area.
